(KMJ) – Fresno Police take a man into custody for trying to rob a taco stand for drug money.
Sunday night just after 10:30 p.m., Officers say 30-year old Jovante Hall approached the man operating the stand located at First and Tulare Avenues. Officers say Hall demanded money, but the vendor refused to hand any over.
When officers arrived on scene, they say they found Hall across the street from the taco stand. They say he began to bang his head against the pavement as officers began to speak to him. Hall eventually confessed to the attempted robbery and told Police he needed the money to buy methamphetamine.
Officers say Jovante Hall has an extensive criminal history for property crimes and assaulting officers. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail for attempted robbery.
