FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Some people pay great attention to what they wear, while others seemingly couldn’t care less, and most seek what’s practical.

But, according to a new study published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, style and clothing choices tend to affect mood, confidence, and ultimately, health.

Participants were asked to wear a lab coat, a painter’s outfit, and finally, their regular attire.

Researchers say participants’ sustained attention improved when they were wearing the lab coat.

Experts say dressing the part is crucial, because even if it’s not right, we’re often judged by how we dress.
