FRESNO COUNTY (KMJ) — Fresno County’s Plant life is almost in full bloom, which means the annual Blossom Trail is here.

It’s been described as a celebration of a new season of crops, and 2016 is set to be a particularly good year for them.

“With the amount of rain we’ve had now, and the snowpack, we expect a very abundant crop”, says the Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce’s Valerie Pieroni.

“It’s a self-guided tour through the eastern portion of Fresno County, which features a panoramic view of all the blossoms of our stonefruit orchards and citrus orchards.

“As you travel through, we have maps that help guide you and you can stop along the way to either purchase fruit or just take pictures”.

The blossom trail is all about bringing springtime visitors to the the area, with the cities of Sanger, Kingsburg, Orange Cove, Reedley, Fowler, and Selma all having a hand in bringing the trail to fruition.

“The celebration helps to kick off a beautiful season of our crops, that eventually go on to people’s homes and all across the nation, and in some cases across the world”.

The opening ceremony takes place 10am Friday February 5th, at Reedley’s Municipal Airport at 4557 S. Frankwood. A link to more information can be found clicking here.
