Poochigian Leaving Supervisors, Hints at Assembly Bid

(KMJ)  After six years on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors, Debbie Poochigian announced Tuesday that she will not run for another term.

“It has been a privilege to serve the constituents of my district and all the residents of Fresno County on the Board of Supervisors since 2009,” said Poochigian in a statement, “I have thoroughly enjoyed the job and thank the constituents of the 5th district for giving me this incredible opportunity to serve.”

In an exclusive interview with Christina Musson and Matt Otstot on KMJ Tuesday morning Poochigian hinted at a possible bid to replace Jim Patterson (R-Fresno) in the California Assembly, “I will leave the door open for future challenges” she said.  Patterson has already announced that he is running for the state Senate.

“You won’t get me to declare (for Assembly), but I’m not done yet,” she told the KMJ listeners.
