January 12, 2016 FRESNO (KMJ) -Fresno Unified is asking for the community’s input at a series of workshops.
Residents will be participating by collaborating and sharing ideas in discussions directed specifically around supporting district youth.
Community members can attend one of seven workshops scheduled this month through February 2016 (see info below).
Fresno Unified School District is encouraging parents, teachers, staff, students and administrators to attend a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) workshop, which is an important component of the state’s new funding system which shifts decision-making on K-12 spending from the Legislature to school districts.
The workshops include an update on how Fresno Unified students are doing academically, what types of programs and services are being offered, and a period for feedback on how future funding could be spent.
The input from these workshops will help the Board of Education determine how funds will be best spent to meet the needs of students.
Workshops are generally provided during the evening. Childcare, light food, and translation services are provided.
