Prosecutors have filed criminal charges against the former owners of Abbey Flooring in Fresno.
Gary and Glennyce Cropper pleaded not guilty to eight counts of grand theft and seven counts of diverting construction funds.
Investigators say the couple took at least $160,000 from 15 victims.
They abandoned their carpet and flooring business in 2012 with orders left paid for -but unfulfilled.
