FRESNO (KMJ) — The shooting in San Bernardino has now been declared an act of terrorism by the FBI. But what led to those acts is the focus of an investigation which involves almost every level of law enforcement, with local, state, federal, and foreign counterparts now working in conjunction with the FBI’s investigation.

“These are the same people we’ve been fighting for the past 15 years”, says Chair of the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes. “It started as Al Qaeda and then grew into their sister organization of ISIS”.

He says it appears both Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik had partaken in both self radicalization and actually traveled for radicalization.

“Al Qaeda is floating in money and so is ISIS. And they know our rules just as well as we do. So they are trying to seed in as many people as possible that they can get and create these networks within Europe and the United States”.

The Valley Congressman thinks the investigation into what happened in San Bernardino will find that there was communication from the United States to either ISIS or Al Qaeda.

“There’s been this what we call self radicalization over the Internet…and then there’s been people who have been traveling there coming back and getting radicalized”.

“That appears like it’s a combination of both for this character and his wife who actually was from there”.
