A patient is fighting for life in an area hospital, Valley blood donors are keeping this person alive.
This one patient – in two days has used half of what is generally needed to support all patients in 30 area hospitals each day.
CENTRAL CALIFORNIA BLOOD CENTER IS ASKING THE COMMUNITY TO PLEASE GIVE BLOOD TODAY – DECEMBER 2ND.
THE VALLEY O-NEGATIVE BLOOD SUPPLY IS AT JUST 9%
This is a precarious time for this patient and for anyone in the Valley who may need blood, as the blood supply is severely depleted due to the recent unusually high number of trauma patients at local hospitals.
Emergency rooms and trauma centers are simply using more blood than the community is donating.
The need for blood will increase during the heavy holiday travel weekends.
Tens of thousands of motorists will be on Valley highways in the coming days, and the Central California Blood Center will need an adequate blood supply to be prepared for auto accidents and other trauma cases.
The need for blood and platelets for this patient is urgent, but the need for blood donors will continue over the coming weeks.
To donate blood call the Central California Blood Center 559-389-5433.
