Review To Determine if Deadly Force Necessary at UC Merced

(KMJ) – This week, Merced County Prosecutors will be reviewing the actions law enforcement in the wake of the November 4th stabbing on campus at UC Merced.

18-year old Faisal Mohammad wounded four people with a hunting knife before being shot and killed by a campus police officer.

The Merced County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the officer’s decision to open fire. Now that report is under review by the Merced County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors will now determine if the officer’s use of deadly force was justified.
