Fresno State is taking the threat of a shooting at the school – made by 18 year old football player Christian Pryor – very seriously.
Fresno State tweeted on their school twitter account: “We have taken the most stringent action we can in this situation, which includes keeping the student off of campus, pursuing disciplinary action and removing him from the football team. Criminal action is pending against this individual.”
Fresno State President Joseph Castro sent out a message, commending the campus police on their quick work to identify and arrest Pryor.
Fresno State’s Chief of Police David Huerta says they were able to make an arrest of 18 year old Christian Pryor quickly, because of the power of social media.
President Castro is asking all Fresno State students and staff to make sure they have an updated mobile phone listed with the Bulldog Alert System – to receive the university’s emergency texts.
Regular updates were sent via social media, through “Bulldog Alert” — the campus emergency text system.
