(KMJ) – Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer has promised an investigation after officers failed to locate the body of a shooting victim over the weekend.
Just after 10 p.m. on October 31st, Officers responded to calls of shots fired at Vassar and Glenn in Northwest Fresno. They located a victim of a gunshot wound and transported the 27-year old male was transported to CRMC for treatment.
Before leaving the scene, he advised officers that he was with another man, who he believed was also shot, and who may have fled the scene. Officers canvassed the large crime scene and located three vehicles, two apartments, and a house that had all been shot, but did not locate the second shooting victim.
Shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday, a resident called the Fresno Police Department and reported a possibly deceased man in their yard. Officers returned to Vassar and Glenn, and discovered a 25 year old male dead at the scene. The Fresno County Coroner has not yet released the identity of the deceased victim.
This is the 37th murder this year. At this time in 2014, Fresno Police had investigated 42 murders.
