Patterson Calls for Subpoena of High Speed Rail Docs

(KMJ)   Assemblyman Jim Patterson (R-Fresno) and several other Republican lawmakers are lashing out against the controversial High Speed Rail Project after a damning report was published by the LA Times.  The Times report revealed confidential internal documents that estimate the cost of the first phase of the bullet train will run billions more than the HSR Authority has led the legislature and public to believe.

Asmb. Patterson has signed a letter that has been sent to Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins (D-San Diego) urging her to subpoena the HSR Authority to produce all financial documents.  In an interview on KMJ’s Morning News with Blake Taylor, Patterson was asked about HSR CEO Jeff Morales’s denial of any knowledge of the allegations.  Patterson said, “I don’t believe him”.

Morales, and HSR Authority Chairman Dan Richards, tell KMJ News they believe Patterson’s claims are absurd.
