A gas leak forced the evacuation of about 400 people from the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, Wednesday morning.
A backhoe working on a zoo parking lot ruptured a gas line.
Gas could be smelled and PG&E and the Fresno Fire Department responded around 11:00am.
Animals were moved off-exhibit inside to protect them.
Two children were treated for gas leak symptoms, while school busses left, and visitors were sent outside to wait in Roeding Park.
PG&E squeezed off the line and the zoo was re-opened to the public shortly after 1:00pm.
