(KMJ) – New water rules are coming to the city of Fresno. And they arrive a full one month earlier than expected.

Thursday Councilmembers approved moving Fresno’s water customers to a once-a-week irrigation rule. The change which impacts residential, commercial and industrial customers will begin on November first. That is one month earlier than previously planned.

Under the new rule, odd numbered addresses water on Saturday. And even numbered locations water on Sunday. There is no watering between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

In addition to this change, Fresno’s Public Utilities department will launch a “Be A Zero Hero” campaign. It is a public education push to ask residents to voluntarily stop all outdoor watering from November 1st through February 29th.
