Anti-Drone Rifle Uses Radio Waves To Bring Down Its Targets

FRESNO (KMJ) — Drones are proving troublesome in California, causing issues fighting wildfires and a near miss at Fresno Yosemite International Airport being just two of the times they’ve caused a serious problem.

So if you get frustrated by that ever present buzzing, then there might be a solution.

It’s called the ‘anti-drone rifle’, and it essentially looks like a rifle with a TV antenna on the end.

It’s been developed by Ohio based company Batelle, and it brings down drones safely using a barrage of targeted radio waves.

It’s range is around 400 meters, but don’t get too excited about it as neither its cost or its legality have been established.
