FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — With the severe shortage of water, Governor Jerry Brown has signed legislation, which bans cities and counties from prohibiting drought-tolerant landscaping, including artificial turf.

It follows similar legislation, which protects synthetic turf owners from homeowners association requirements.

Brown says he and the legislature will continue to work next year, to address the remaining water conservation obstacles.
