(KMJ) – 26-year old Jesse Gunderson has been charged with first degree murder in this death of his step-grandfather.
Police said 58-year old Danny Dart was killed last Saturday night outside his home in the 4500-block of Chamberlain Street in Wayne. That is a suburb west of Detroit.
Investigators say Dart died after being struck in the head by an axe.
Family members say Gunderson gave up his job in Fresno and moved in with his Grandparents about a month ago. And some believe Gunderson may try to use a temporary insanity defense because he told his mother he doesn’t remember killing Dart, a retired autoworker.
Gunderson faces life in prison if convicted. He was remanded to jail without bond pending a probable cause hearing. That is set for October 6th.
