(KMJ) – New evacuation warnings have been issued as the Rough Fire moves away from the Giant Sequoias.
Fire crews say the flames did burn through the Grant Grove area but not much damage was done. and the General Grant tree was spared.
The Rough Rire now covers more than 135-thousand acres. And, as of Monday morning, it is 36-percent contained.
Over the weekend, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department issued new evacuation warnings. It covers the areas along Hopewell Road north of Highway 180 and east of Sequoia National Park.
