FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — California lawmakers have returned to work, with more than 300 bills awaiting action in the final week of this year’s regular session.
Governor Jerry Brown has called a special session on healthcare and transportation, which could extend past Friday, although legislative leaders have indicated they’d like to wrap up before then.
Among the pending measures are those addressing medical marijuana and e-cigarette regulations, reducing fuel consumption, and permitting doctors to prescribe life-ending drugs.
However, the outcomes will be anyone’s guess, given the partisan divide among lawmakers.
