FRESNO (KMJ) — A fifteen year old student at Fresno’s San Joaquin Memorial High School is now in police custody – after an Instagram post which suggested the suspect would “solve the problem of mine” with a MAC-11.

It was discovered Monday night, and the Principal at the school alerted Fresno Police to the teen’s statement, which used modified lyrics from rapper Eminem.

Officers went to the teenager’s home, and found guns in the living room and in a hidden compartment.

“They saw an AK-47 air soft rifle, as well as a bolt action rifle, .357 calibre handgun, .357 Magnum revolver, a 12-gauge shotgun, and also a .22 calibre long rifle”, reveals Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer.

Among the weapons was ammunition for them, and a ballistic vest.

The teenager has been described as a troubled individual and is set to receive a mental evaluation. Fresno Police add that the teen had lost his mother a year ago, had quit the football team, was being bullied, and was described as socially awkward and a loner.

Chief Dyer says the end result could have been far worse.

“The weapons were present,  the ammunition was present, and perhaps even the mindset was present. These are really all the things that we look for in individuals that historically have been involved in incidents like Columbine”.

When the question was asked whether or not the juvenile would be treated as an adult, Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp said that it’s important to recognize the suspect is only 15 years old.

“He is a minor, he is a child.

“The case will be evaluated. The investigation is still ongoing so once it’s all compiled then our juvenile justice team will make a determination along with the probation department”.

It’s expected the juvenile will be charged with felony terrorist threats.
