FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Nearing a 15-year-high, 34% of Americans say they have a positive view of the oil and gas industry.
According to Gallup, ratings have improved, as the average price for a gallon of gas has fallen, on a national basis, by more than a dollar per gallon, since 2012.
Although the rating may not seem all that great, Americans have more trust the oil and gas industry, than they do in the federal government.
54% of Americans say their opinion of the government is negative.
Despite noticeably cheaper gas prices throughout much of the nation, drivers here in California haven’t seen significant relief.
Consumer activists and lawmakers are calling for investigations, into alleged price gouging by the industry.
