FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The California Legislature is back from its summer recess, and has several bills to take up, during the final month of business.
Lawmakers are considering tax increases to boost health care services, and fund road repairs.
Transportation has been a contentious topic, with Republicans accusing the Democratic majority of wasting the revenue already generated.
Among other proposals: strengthening efforts to combat climate change, regulating and taxing cannabis, and limiting improper use of drones.
Although a physician-assisted suicide bill appears to be dead, proponents say they’re not done just yet; don’t be surprised if it resurfaces.
