(KMJ) Fresno The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning bear attack.
As a result, an “aggressive animal public safety warning” was issued for the Midpines area of Mariposa County.
Around 4:00 am Thursday, an unidentified man was attacked by a bear at his home in the 5000 block of Colorado Rd. The 67 year old victim suffered lacerations and puncture wounds to his legs, arms and stomach.
He’s hospitalized in stable condition.
The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife are currently searching for the animal.
