FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Disgraced Cal Fire Battalion Chief Orville Fleming has been sentenced to 16 years to life in prison, after being convicted of second-degree murder.
Fleming, who has ties to Clovis, was nabbed after a 16-day manhunt last year, for fatally stabbing his 26-year-old girlfriend Sarah Douglas.
His arrest triggered a separate investigation of the agency, which led to 16 Cal Fire employees being disciplined.
The activities included cheating, drinking on duty, and sharing sexually-explicit photos.
