FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A lawsuit filed against the state on behalf of 3 terminally ill Californians has been tossed out.
A San Diego judge says the court is not unsympathetic to their plight, but lawmakers, not a judge, would need to change the law that bars doctor-prescribed fatal medication.
Activists are pushing to reverse the law that makes physician-assisted suicide a felony.
A bill which would have reversed it stalled in the legislature earlier this month.
The plaintiffs say they plan to appeal.
