FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The price of gas in the Golden State has fluctuated significantly this year.
Refinery problems, special blends, and union walkouts were blamed for the sudden spikes.
Fuel is now averaging $3.44 a gallon, which according to AAA, is about 70 cents lower than it was around the same time in 2014.
However, the Santa Monica-based Consumer Watchdog says something still isn’t right.
With the price of crude down to $60 a barrel, advocates believe gas prices should be a dollar cheaper than where they presently stand.
They, along with some state lawmakers, are calling for investigations into the actions by refiners, whom they accuse of market manipulation.
