Hanford’s Crime Fighting App For Smartphones

HANFORD POLICE

Citizens of Hanford – you have a new tool for crime reporting.

The Hanford Police Department takes crime fighting to your PC or smartphone.

A new link on their website lets people file reports on their smart phone without having to call an officer or enter a police station.

“Citizen Online Crime Reporting” has a list of incidents – you click on the one that matches your complaint.

Code enforcement, theft, and vandalism are just some of the options that are available for crimes.

People can also report drug or gang activity.

Once the information is entered into the system, a police officer will look over the complaint, and if it’s approved it will go to the Kings County DA’s office for possible prosecution.

The police department can also contact the victim if the items are recovered.

The new system will free up police for emergencies.
