How many hot dogs can you eat at one time?

If that was something you’ve ever considered —Fresno State wants to help you realize your dream….

Sign-ups begin for the Hot Dog Eating Contest – part of the upcoming Fresno State Food Festival on Saturday July 11th.

“They’ve been approved by the President of campus, President Castro used the first batch for his event and he fell in love with them we’ve had a lot of positive response with the hotdogs. We’ve branched out and did an all-beef hot dog and done a chili-cheese hot dog and it’s been nothing but positive feedback.” -Joseph Rodrigues, Assistant Manager, Gibson Farm Market.

HOT DOGS

The student-produced “Fresno State Bulldog” hot dogs are the “dog” of choice during the contest which starts at 11:00a.m.

Applications for teams of four are available right now at the Gibson Farm Market.

Participants must be 16 years or older and registered by July 9th.

VICTOR

Will Fresno State’s top dog and new mascot Victor E. Bulldog be there to observe the hot dog eating contest?

If his schedule permits – he’s a busy dog.

“He is, I don’t know if anyone knows that he has his own hours on campus. Dog is going to be quite the character.” – Joseph Rodrigues, Assistant Manager, Gibson Farm Market.
