Tulare County Firefighters are responding to a 15 acre blaze at the Kings River Gun Club and the Kings River itself by the 99 Freeway.
Tulare County Fire Chief Jeff McLaughlin says it started as a vegetation fire, and structures were initially threatened but he says no buildings have been damaged.
“There were threats in the beginning – that has been mitigated.” – Jeff McLaughlin, Tulare County Fire Chief.
As of 4:15 p.m. there were more than 40 firefighters working with assistance from Fresno, Kings, Kingsburg and Dinuba units to put out the blaze.
Chief McLaughlin says he estimates the fire will be contained by 5:00 tonight but they will be watching it for the next 24 hours.
