Fresno, CA (KMJ) Fresno County Sheriffs detectives have arrested a young man on charges of attempted murder and carjacking.
20-year-old Gustavo Hernandez of Fresno was caught early Sunday morning and booked into the Fresno County Jail.
Investigators says Hernandez worked with one of the victims, 23-year-old Tony Sanchez. He was found lying unconscious inside his home, suffering from a severe head injury.
Sanchez’s wife, 21 year old Francisca Sanchez, managed to knock on the door of a neighbor’s home on S. Cedar Ave, despite her throat being slashed. Detectives say she was bleeding profusely. Sanchez was not able to speak due to her neck injury, however, she had written a note which told deputies information about her attacker and directed them to check her nearby home.
Both victims remain hospitalized and are expected to survive.
