FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The California Water Resources Control Board has issued the largest cuts on record, to farmers with some of the strongest water rights.
114 senior rights holders in the Sacramento, San Joaquin and Delta Watersheds, are being ordered to stop pumping.
However, some of those growers, whose rights were staked more than a century ago, contend the state has no authority to issue the cuts.
