FRESNO (KMJ) — A man who police think could be responsible for four bank robberies and one attempted bank robbery – in the space of three weeks – is still at large.

The first robbery was almost three weeks ago at a bank in downtown Fresno. The second robbery was last Saturday in north west Fresno – and the third was on Tuesday in Downtown Fresno again (half a mile away from the first).

Then Thursday at around 11am, Officers got word of an attempted robbery at a Bank of America on Blackstone and Dakota in central Fresno.

“He had a demand note”, says Fresno Police Lieutenant Joe Gomez. “He threw the demand note to the teller. She got scared threw her hands up. He got frightened ran out and jumped in a suspect vehicle”.

Then about 25 minutes later the same suspect manages to steal money from the Bank of the West at Fashion Fair.

“He walked in and told the teller this is a robbery give me all your money. He asked for various denominations. He got around $700 and then he fled in the suspect vehicle, the same vehicle the same suspect”.

Police tracked that vehicle to a motel at Highway 99 and Olive. After searching the motel and another close by, it was determined that the suspect got away. Although there is nothing concrete at this time to link the five incidents together – police say there’s a strong possibility they could be connected.
