The Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission is playing a leadership role in terms of rebuilding relationships between young people and the police.
As part of their 50th Anniversary Series, the Fresno EOC held an exercise in community policing – welcoming guest speaker and social activist Dorothy Stoneman – the founder and CEO of YouthBuild USA.
Stoneman says to build bridges the first step is for adults to respect youth.
She told participants they have the power to make race, inequality and injustice visible to others by actively getting involved in peaceful community organizing.
