FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Covered California is looking to reduce spending next fiscal year, as the exchange has failed to meet enrollment projections.

The reduction is expected to total $58 million, although none of the nearly 1,400 jobs are expected to be cut.

Instead, slashes are set to made in sales and marketing.

Director Peter Lee says the exchange is now in the process of standing on its own two feet, and ending reliance on federal support.
