CLOVIS (KMJ) — The Rodeo Blood Drive is in full force today at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds – and if you have an hour spare today maybe you too could also spare some blood? Not only could you help save a life – but you could score some free stuff too.

Donors will receive a commemorative Rodeo t-shirt – as well as Rodeo performance discounts.

For more than a decade – the blood drive has been on the day of the rodeo itself – but for the first time in its 15 year history its the day before.

“It just got to be too confusing and too conflicting with all the folks trying to come to the evening Rodeo performance and trying to pack everything up and getting donors taken care of”, says Chair of the Board at the Central California Blood Center Valerie Vuicich.

“By moving it a day early it also gives us folks a day to recover and come back and enjoy the Rodeo tomorrow night. We’re hoping things will be simpler and more convenient for all the donors today and all the Rodeo fans tomorrow night”.

Donations centers are open until 6pm Wednesday evening. As well as at the Rodeo ground – you can also donate at:

4343 W. Herndon Ave, Fresno.
1196 E. Shaw Ave #102, Fresno.
1010 E. Perrin, Fresno.
1515 S. Mooney.

1515 S. Mooney Blvd., Visalia.

93 N. Main Street., Porterville.

To donate – officials say you need to have an hour spare and be in good general health. They also ask that you weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (or 16 years old with parental permission). Be sure to eat before donating, and drink plenty of water beforehand. You’ll also need a photo ID and your social security number.
