FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A bill that would prevent parents from seeking vaccination waivers for their children has stalled in the California Senate.
The Senate Education Committee was the second legislative body to consider the measure Wednesday, that sparked a debate pitting personal rights against public health.
Committee members said the proposal could create a second-class tier of students, by depriving unvaccinated children of an adequate education.
Supporters plan to bring the bill back next week, after they make revisions.
