Fresno State Mascot Victor E. II Dies From Bee Sting

~(Fresno, CA) – Fresno State Athletics' beloved live mascot Victor E. Bulldog II passed away unexpectedly Thursday from a severe anaphylactic shock caused by a bee sting.

Victor E. II would have turned three next month.

"Victor E. attended hundreds of Fresno State events. Everywhere he went, he attracted fans of all ages and was a loving face of Fresno State Athletics," – Fresno State Senior Associate Athletic Director Paul Ladwig

Victor E. II, an English Bulldog, was introduced to the red wave as the second live mascot at a Sept. 15, 2012 football game against Colorado.

"His unexpected passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of all who loved him," said Fresno Veterinarian Dr. Kelly Weaver, who donated Victor E. II to Fresno State.

"Victor E. II loved people, loved attending Fresno State events and was larger than life when it came to being around big crowds. All of us will miss him tremendously."- Dr. Kelly Weaver
