McDonald’s will stop using chickens exposed to human antibiotics within the next two-years, according to Meatingplace.
Tyson Foods supports McDonald’s decision and looks forward to working with the company to meet its new standard.
Tyson says it believes in responsible chicken production and already limits the use of antibiotics in its chicken business, a reduction of more than 84% since 2011.
Keystone Foods also fully supports McDonald’s decision.
Keystone says it has worked for several years to significantly reduce antibiotic usage in its flocks.
Perdue Foodservice also supports the company’s decision and says more than 95% of the chickens Perdue producers are raised without any human antibiotics.
