~~At approximately 11:30 pm. on March 3, 2015 Officers were dispatched to 4302 N. Blackstone for a suspicious person in the drive through of the IN-N-Out Burger. The employees reported that the subject appeared to be passed out with a pistol in his lap. Due to him being armed, officers surrounded the subject and tried to wake the him using the PA system as well as shining lights on him. This was done to ensure that officers did not startle him and provoke an armed confrontation. As officers were contacting the subject, he released the brake on his vehicle causing it to lunge forward and strike a nearby fence. Even this did not wake him. After exhausting all other options, a Violent Crime Impact Team was used to approach the vehicle and take the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as Nicolas Allen Gibson 25 years of Fresno. Gibson was arrested for DUI, being a felon in possession of a weapon and probation violation. A photo of Gibson and the weapon are attached to this news release.
