Suspect In Janessa Ramirez Murder Turns Himself In

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The suspect accused of firing the first shot in the gun battle that resulted in the death of 9-year-old Janessa Ramirez, has turned himself into Fresno police.

Dante Hawkins is said to have been with Isaac Stafford, when fire was being exchanged between them and Brian Cooks.

Janessa was walking with her mother, when she was struck by a stray bullet.

Hawkins has not been booked for murder, although a warrant was obtained by police.
