~~Clovis West Senior Katie Horsford was picked to take part in a special golf program at this weekend's Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
She was one of only four people chosen nationwide for AT&T’S "Fan's Eye View" at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Katie is a golf standout with the non-profit First Tee program.
We get to go inside the ropes and sort of have the access that not everyone gets by going to this tournament. I think it's going to be an experience I'm going to remember the rest of my life. I don't know what other 17 year olds are getting the experience I'm getting, so I'm really grateful for it – Katie Horsford
Mike Firpo, the Executive Director, says for young golfers like Katie, First Tee offers not only a chance to rub shoulder's with pro players – it's a lesson in life.
“By getting all these kids out here to have a fun game we are also able to teach them meeting and greeting skills, goal setting skills, all these different things that make them a better well rounded human being as they grow up, then they turn into a wonderful young lady like Katie” – Mike Firpo
