More Producers Support Beef Checkoff

Despite a great deal of discussion about the future of the checkoff, Producer Communications Working Group Chair Jeanne Harland says beef and dairy producers continue to value their checkoff for building demand, contributing to their profitability and representing their interests.

A recent survey conducted by Aspen Media and Market Research of more than 1,200 beef and dairy producers across the U.S. shows 75% producers support the beef checkoff.

The survey also shows the number disapproving of the beef checkoff is the lowest in program history at 11% Of those surveyed,  81% say the checkoff has helped contribute to a positive trend in beef demand, 72% says the checkoff contributes to their operations’ profitability, 76% say it is there for them in a crisis and 66% believe the checkoff is well managed.
