Police are searching for the man they say went on an unusual rant about communism and then attacked a Fresno school staff member Thursday morning.
A man dressed in a Hawaiian shirt showed up to the main office at Wishon Elementary School asking if the school was communist and if there were bibles there, according to Fresno police Lt. Joe Gomez.
That's when a staff member confronted the man and led him outside in hopes of getting him off campus.
"Outside the office he's ranting and raving about the same things then pushes and assaults the staff member, trying to push his way by to get to the office; the staff member blocks his path," Gomez said
Other nearby schools were notified in case the suspect decided to go to those campuses as well, police said.
The suspect is described as a white man in his mid- 50's to early 60's with salt and pepper hair. He was last seen in a dark brown or plum-colored mini van with license plate number 6TIY269 that had duct tape wrapped around the passenger's side-view mirror.
