FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Researchers at UC Davis have been given $200,000 by the National Science Foundation, to discover ways speed up production of the Zmapp drug.
They’re attempting to produce antibodies from plant cells grown in bioreactors — as opposed to whole plants — as production capacity is limited.
Meanwhile, another research team believes they’ve pinpointed how the Ebola epidemic in West Africa started: a small boy playing in a tree, where infected bats lived.
