FRESNO (KMJ) – Calls for FUSD trustee Terry Slatic to resign at Thursday night’s school board meeting.

A packed room at the Fresno Unified School District building downtown for a special meeting to decide whether Trustee Terry Slatic should be sanctioned for his conduct during a visit to Bullard High School’s cheer practice on July 10th.

“It’s your time, that you need to walk out, step out, or be sent out,” Pastor DJ Criner said.

Dozens of parents, students and concerned citizens, speaking out to condemn Slatic.

“No child deserves to be treated in this manner,” Nicole Guerriero said.

Only one speaker in support.

“The problem here is not with Mr. Slatic,” another speaker said.

In the end the board voted to express disapproval of Slatic, gave direction to the superintendent to bar Slatic from Bullard for two weeks, require that Slatic be escorted when he visits the campus again, and form a committee to investigate Slatic’s actions for a possible censure.

“Will you resign?” Olivier asked.

“No, not in a million years,” Slatic said. “If the voters don’t want me her anymore then I will happily go back into retirement, because I came out of retirement to fix this dysfunctional school district.”
