Fresno Co. Deputy Injured After Shots Fired in Tollhouse

 

UPDATE: Suspect is in custody.

TOLLHOUSE, CA (KMJ) – A dispute over property lines leads to the injury of a Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy in Tollhouse.

Spokesman Tony Botti says it happened in the area of Quail Mountain Lane and Hidden Hollow Lane.

Sheriff Margaret Mims says they got a call of shots fired before noon, Tuesday.

 

Deputies responded and starting taking fire volley.

49-year old Deputy Sheriff John Ericson was shot in the back of his leg.

He suffered a broken leg but never lost consciousness.

He was evacuated for almost an hour – carried by other deputies out of a remote area, then flown to hospital to undergo surgery.

At 12:45 the Deputy injured arrived at CRMC.

Sheriff Mims says they have not released the name of the person who fired the rifle.
