Storms Push Majors Reservoirs Past Historical Averages

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The majority of reservoirs in the State Water Project and federal Central Valley Project are approaching maximum capacity, following the recent storms.

Shasta, Oroville, Trinity Lake, Folsom, Don Pedro, San Luis and Pine Flat are all well above average for this time of year. The latter two are seeing large volumes of water released by managers.

No part of the Golden State is dealing with drought at this point, although Imperial and San Diego counties, as well as sections of Riverside and Orange Counties, are considered “abnormally dry.”
