South Valley Couple Accused in Attempted Axe Attack

(KMJ) – Visalia Police say a dispute between several transients ends with threats made with an axe and a knife.

Officers were called to Mary’s Vineyard on the 1400 block of East Noble Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.  There, they say 47-year old Deanna Espino and her 49-year old husband, Anthony Espino, Jr., got into a fight with another woman.

First, Anthony Espino, Jr., allegedly threatening to kill the woman with a knife.  Then, Officers say Deanna Espino approached the victim and threatened to kill her, while swinging an axe at her.

The victim was not injured, and the couple was taken into custody and each charged with assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats.
