Bodies of Missing Hiker, Park Employee, Located In Yosemite National Park

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) –  The bodies of two people who went missing in Yosemite National Park have now been located.

 

The 48-year-old Scott Tenczar from San Jose was an Afghanistan veteran and an experienced hiker.

He was last seen July 25th.

Tenczar had been planning to backpack to Crown and Peeler Lakes when he disappeared.

“We did find his remains, and there’s a positive ID that Scott Tenczar was found in the park he was found in a noretheast region of the park in an area off-trail,” said Yosemite National Park Spokesperson Jamie Richards.

An investigation is underway.

Park Official also found the body of a Yosemite National Park worker.

Rangers say John Cogdell was last seen on August 15th near the Upper Pines Campground.

Park Spokesperson Jamie Richards confirmed that his body was found on Friday, August 17 but no further details have been released

It remains an ongoing investigation.
