Fresno Sheriff’s Dept, DOJ Bust Sex Predators in Operation “Broken Heart”


FRESNO,CA (KMJ) – The Department of Justice announced more than 2,300 suspected online child sex offenders have been arrested following a three-month long operation called “Broken Heart.”

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says it was one of 61 Internet Crimes Against Children task forces that took part in the operation.

The task forces identified 195 offenders who either produced child pornography or committed child sexual abuse, and 383 children who suffered recent, ongoing, or historical sexual abuse or production of child pornography.

The task forces investigated more than 25,200 complaints of crimes against children, targeting suspects involved in child pornography crimes online and the sex trafficking of children, here and abroad.
